Hey guys! My name is Marcie and I’m stoked that you’re here! I am a type one diabetic, a single mother to a sweet (and sometimes sour) seven year old boy, and eager for adventure and new horizons. I spent over eight years of my life climbing the corporate ladder when I finally realized, if I don’t make a change, nothing is going to change. So I quit my day job, sold my house, and traded my trusty Subaru in for a Ford Transit with plans to hit the road full time with my son and our pup. For years, I have dreamt of this, admiring instagram posts and blogs and even friends who made van life their reality! (I even had a vision board with pictures of all sorts of van life!) Truly, I never thought my dreams would be possible for someone like me. As a type one diabetic AND a single mother, quitting my job seemed like the most terrible and irresponsible thing to do. I HAVE to have reliable insurance and steady income. No one else is going to support us, so I have to use common sense, right? Well, one day on a whim I decided enough was enough. I began in depth research into van life, homeschooling, income options, health insurance, and absolutely anything I could that would motivate me to take the necessary steps to the life I wanted to live. Finally, when I realized- I CAN DO THIS- I did it. I traded my car in and quit my job in the same week. And here we are, waiting to wake up from this dream at any given moment.
